High quality materials is a must for furniture to last long. But equally important is how you take care of your furniture. Please follow our care advice and make your furniture last a lifetime.
Nano laminate is a very durable material and suitable for families with small children. It has a naturally antibacterial surface that requires nothing more than water and a microfiber cloth or melamine sponge for cleaning. You only need to use lukewarm water together with a microfiber cloth or melamine sponge. Food residues and spills can be wiped off first with a clean dishcloth, without cleaning agents. For more difficult stains that require cleaning agents, we recommend dishwashing soap or window cleaner. Be sure to remove the cleaning agent completely afterwards, especially dishwashing soap has a tendency to settle on top of the surface.
The matte surface of the nano laminate can otherwise be perceived as patchy, especially visible in trailing light. You handle this by wiping clean repeatedly with a damp microfiber cloth or melamine sponge. If you have problems with rings from cups/glass, a melamine sponge is very effective. Don't expose nano laminate by scratching the surface with a brush, sponge or cleaning agent with abrasive properties. Strong acids and bleaching agents should also be avoided. Micro scratches that occur over time can be remedied with a melamine sponge.
Our linoleum receives a surface treatment that makes it easy to wipe off. Linoleum is as durable as nano laminate, but you should always wipe with a damp cloth after using the table and maintain it at regular intervals. You should wipe off stains and food spills as soon as possible and always use place mats. To maintain the natural, matte surface of your linoleum, we recommend cleaning with a soap-based cleaner or linoleum soap once a month. For more difficult stains, you can try using 1/10 dishwashing soap mixed with water.
Avoid rubbing the stains, but instead bathe them away, and you will avoid shiny surfaces that can otherwise occur.
Wiping off veneer with a damp cloth is usually sufficient. Avoid using cleaning agents and the like as far as possible. Just like with linoleum, you should take care of stains and food spills as soon as possible.
If there are stains that do not come off with a damp cloth, mix 1/10 soap with lukewarm water. Clean by bathing, not rubbing, otherwise there is a risk of creating shiny surfaces.
If you want to refresh the surface, you can treat it with a natural hardwax oil such as OSMO 3062. Apply a light layer of the oil using a microfibre cloth and wipe off the excess oil afterwards. It is important that the furniture is clean and dry before you start the treatment.
By time, it is inevitable that wooden furniture wear and get stains. Then it is time to do a more thorough treatment. Our veneer is of premium quality and thus significantly thicker than many other veneer on the market.
This means that you can sand the surface and refinish it 2-3 times during its lifetime. Then re-treat with a natural hardwax oil such as OSMO 3062.
Our table legs in ash and oak made out of solid wood and treated with hardwax oil, which provides a very durable and good protection for the table legs. The only thing you need to do in everyday life is to wipe off your table legs from time to time with a damp cloth.
More difficult stains are handled by a mix 1/10 soap with water and wipe it off. Make sure that you don't rub too hard in order to avoid shiny surfaces to appear. We recommend that you bathe the stains instead.
If you want to freshen up the surface of the table legs over the years, make use of a natural hardvax oil. Use a microfibre cloth and a dry surface when applying for best results.
